Education

Self-directed fine art education rooted in master study and expressionist reinterpretation, supported by formal training in visual design, filmmaking, and brand communication. Richard began his creative career in print and graphic design, working with analog and early digital tools prior to Adobe products like Photoshop and Premiere becoming industry standard. He studied oil painting under San Francisco-based painter Debra Cook Shapiro, known for her figurative and landscape works exhibited at venues such as the LA Art Show, Mirus Gallery, and the French Consul Residence in San Francisco.

Related Creative Experience:
With over three decades of experience as a creative director, art director, and filmmaker, Richard has led award-winning creative campaigns and brand films across the U.S. and Europe. He has worked with organizations such as the George Lucas Educational Foundation and brings a deep background in visual storytelling, brand identity, and cross-cultural creative leadership. Additional studies in screenwriting, directing, and film editing (San Francisco Film School, 2008–2012).
