I was always fascinated by the Arctic and Antarctic. The adventures of Amundsen captured my desire to visit both places one day. I visited the replica of Amundsen's boat FRAM in Norway. I have never even been close to the Antarctic but closer to the Arctic. I have come as far north as Iceland several times. This is where I saw the book "Faces of the North by Ragnar Axelsson for the first time. When he published his new book "Arctic Heroes" I pre-ordered it right away. Absolutely fascinating how RAX tells the story about Greenlandic dogs saving the hunters’ lives often from bad conditions. RAX kindly allowed me to repaint his cover photo, a sled dog from Greenland, a true Arctic Hero. I can also highly recommend his book which you can find here at rax.is
