I have to admit I saw Johnny Cash for the first time as an actor in a Columbo episode back in Austria, before I knew his music.I have to admit I saw Johnny Cash for the first time as an actor in a Columbo episode back in Austria, before I knew his music. It wasn't until I came here that I became fascinated with his sound. Like most of us I've seen Walk the Line, which spun me further into the Johnny Cash story. One of my favorite records is his final American Recordings series, where he covered Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt" and Gordon Lightfoot's "If You Could Read My Mind," which to this day, though he didn't write it, remains my favorite song of his.
